About John Harrison | Fine Art Landscape Photography
John Harrison is an award-winning fine art landscape photographer specializing in nature and travel photography, creating images that bring calm, wonder, and connection into interior spaces.
John Harrison is an award-winning fine art landscape photographer specializing in nature and travel photography from some of the world’s most inspiring locations. His work captures the quiet power, scale, and emotion of the natural world — images created to bring a sense of calm, wonder, and connection into interior spaces.

John photographs across a wide range of iconic and lesser-known destinations, including Yosemite National Park, the dramatic coastlines of Kauai and the Hawaiian Islands, the California coastline from Big Sur to Santa Cruz, and throughout Europe, including The Netherlands, Austria, Germany, and beyond. His portfolio features recognizable landmarks such as Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Firefall, and the Na Pali Coast, alongside more intimate landscapes that reveal subtle light, texture, and atmosphere.
At the heart of John’s work is a deep appreciation for how light shapes a scene. Whether photographing granite walls at sunrise, mist drifting through forested valleys, or quiet canals at blue hour, his images balance realism with a refined fine art aesthetic. Each photograph is created with intention — not simply to document a place, but to convey what it felt like to stand there.
John’s fine art photography prints are collected for homes, offices, and healthcare environments, where nature imagery is known to support relaxation, focus, and well-being. His work is particularly well suited for spaces where tranquility, scale, and timeless beauty matter.
Why I Create Fine Art
No boring white walls.
My goal is to capture not just the scene, but the feeling of a place — its light, its rhythm, and its emotional pull. I want my images to invite people to pause, remember, and reconnect with the world around them.
Each photograph is created with the intention of living beyond the screen. My fine art prints now hang in homes, offices, and healthcare spaces across the globe — collected by private individuals as well as organizations such as Google, Apple, and REI. It’s deeply fulfilling to know these images help transform blank spaces into environments that inspire calm, curiosity, and reflection in everyday life.

What Collectors Say
*“As my husband and I began renovating our living room, we knew we wanted a large-scale art piece that was beautiful and stirring. We explored well-known photographers, but nothing truly spoke to us. When we discovered John’s work, everything changed.
‘Above the Fog’ immediately resonated with us. John patiently helped us determine the right size and finish, and the final piece is incredibly stunning. We often find ourselves standing in front of it, simply taking it in. It is the most emotional and meaningful piece in our collection.”*
